The Inaugural Zell Event Series Program: A Discussion with Anthony Julius on Academic Freedom and Freedom of Expression

Anthony Julius is a lawyer, university professor and writer. He is Deputy Chairman of law firm Mishcon de Reya; Chair of Law and the Arts at University College London; and author of (among other publications) T.S. Eliot: Anti-Semitism and Literary Form, Transgressions: The Offenses of Art, and Trials of Diaspora: A History of English Anti-Semitism.  He was the first chair of the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund, and was for several years the chairman of the Anglo-Jewish newspaper The Jewish Chronicle. He was the defense attorney in the renowned Irving vs. Lipstadt Holocaust denial case. His next books, a biographical study, Abraham, and a polemic, Free Speech for Liberals, will be published across the coming few years.
